PGI Margdarshan (“we”, “our”, or “us”) is a mobile application that helps visitors and patients navigate the PGIMER, Chandigarh campus. This policy explains how we handle your data, the permissions we request, and your rights.

Information We Collect

Location Data: For outdoor navigation (Google Maps) and determining building/floor indoors.
Camera Access: For scanning QR codes and enabling AR navigation indoors.
Microphone Access (optional): For voice search/commands if enabled.
Google Account Info: When signing in with Google, we collect your email and name.
Analytics & Diagnostics: Device type, OS version, crash logs, and usage statistics via Firebase.

Permissions We Use

ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION / ACCESS_COARSE_LOCATION	Outdoor GPS navigation, distance and ETA, building entry detection.
CAMERA	Scan QR codes for floor/building detection and AR route rendering.
RECORD_AUDIO	Voice commands (optional, only when microphone feature is used).
POST_NOTIFICATIONS	Send navigation reminders, alerts, or updates (optional).
INTERNET / ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE	Load maps, fetch routes, sync building data, and upload crash logs.
FOREGROUND_SERVICE	Keep navigation active during ongoing guidance.

How We Use Data

Provide outdoor and indoor navigation, including floor-to-floor routing.
Enable AR experiences using device camera.
Improve app performance and fix crashes via analytics.
Send optional alerts and notifications if granted permission.

Data Sharing

We do not sell personal data. We only share with trusted providers:

Google Maps Platform: For routing and navigation services.
Firebase Analytics/Crashlytics: For diagnostics and performance insights.
Google Sign-In: For authentication (if you choose to sign in).
ARCore / AR SDKs: For AR rendering, processed on-device.

Data Retention

We keep account-related data while your account is active. Analytics and crash logs are retained for 12–24 months. Camera frames and microphone audio are processed only in real-time and not stored.

Your Rights

Revoke permissions anytime in device settings.
Request access or deletion of your account data.
Opt-out of analytics where supported.

Children’s Privacy

We do not knowingly collect information from children without legal consent.

Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The revised version will be published with an updated effective date.
